The purpose of this session is to provide educators with a practical overview of the science of reading. We will begin by discussing the science of reading and the process involved in learning to read. We will then demystify and unlock the English Language by learning seven decoding patterns: five for single-syllable words and two for multi-syllable words. Finally, we will discuss how to structure lessons by focusing on multi-sensory dictation, transferring skills to connected texts, and developing classroom-ready skills.
